“If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.” Ernest Hemingway was so wise to mention this thing in his life. Paris has something to offer to each soul and heart. One can find here what one wants, to any taste.
Decades and thousands of years haven`t pass by unnoticed in French culture. French art has a lot of faces and names, and most of them are famous all over the world. Nowadays Paris remains one of the main capitals of art, so if you want to have a look at the greatest masterpieces of all times, don`t hesitate and visit Paris.
They consider that long times of the state support of the modern art made the modern art work for itself and become circled in France. The French like to complain that their artists are not presented on the world stage in their might and blossom (the French just like to complain). But the new president of France, Nicola Sarcosi started to change this situation and he believes that private investments instead of state support can help the art for good. This program is very disputable and we shall see its results.
But there is a noticeable movement in France, and especially in Paris. A new generation of young artists uncovered itself, connecting and working with artists and tutors from all over the world and giving a worldwide announcement. There are lots of places where you can see modern art in Paris, from commercial galleries to big museums, and there is nothing as good as the last ones in exhibiting.
Paris is just like a snail, it goes like a spiral from the central, first district to the suburbs, to the district number 20. As usual the most prestigious places of modern art are situated in the center (1-9 districts). The representatives of the younger generation are situated in other districts. So, if you want to see something from the art modern and you have no idea where to go first – go to the Centre of George Pompidou. It is the most popular museum in Paris.
